Google has taken down the ‘Remove China Apps’ from Google play store. The app which was claimed to identify Chinese applications in users phone. However, this app has been downloaded by 5 million users last week and it had been topping the chart of Google Play store.

Even, it is not yet clarified by Google Play Store that why it has been removed from Google Play Store and whether it will be available in the future.

The Jaipur Based company named ‘Onetouchappslab’ is the creator company of the app and it has tweeted on Tuesday night to announce that Google has suspended the ‘Remove China Apps’ form Google play store, and the reason behind suspension was not mentioned. And it wrote, “Thank you all for the support you received in the last two weeks… You are awesome!”

So now people who have already installed ‘remove China Apps’ can use it but others won’t be able to download from Google play store.

According to the sources of TechCrunch, the app ‘remove china apps’ pulled by Google from its Play store for violating the ‘Deceptive Behavior Policy’

As per Google’s policy says, “we don’t allow apps that attempt to deceive users or enable dishonest behavior including but not limited to apps which are determined to be functionally impossible. Apps must provide an accurate disclosure, description, and images or video for its functionality in all parts of the metadata and should perform as reasonably expected by the user.”

Apart from that angry twitter users questioned Google’s decision and many of them tagged ‘Sundar Pichai’ and by accusing that the tech giant favoring China.

How do ‘Remove China Apps’ work?

This app can be used easily by the user, simply click on scan now option and it will bring the list of all Chinese apps installed in your cell. After that user can decide which app to keep and which app to delete. It provides the user with an option to delete an app by clicking on the bin button next to each app, as on clicking on the bin the app will remove the application but data will be sustained. for example, if you will remove ‘TikTok’, It will retain the videos that you have shot in the gallery.

‘Onetouchappslab’ said that this app was developed for education purpose so that one can know that which app belongs to which country and the company does not intend to use this app commercially.

Even recently, Google has removed its Indian app ‘Mitron’ which was cloned to the Chinese app ‘TikTok’ that was downloaded by 5 million users. According to reports, the app was removed because it could match Google’s spam and minimum functionality policy. So as per Google policy, “At least, apps should provide users with a basic degree of functionality and respectful user experience”. It also states that Google does not allow apps that “merely provide the same experience as other apps already on Google Play”.

This app has become popular after increasing escalation with the Chinese military over LAC in Ladakh and also an entrepreneur and an education reformer, Sonam Wangchuk, whose work inspired by Aamir Khan’s role in 3 Idiots, has also urged Indians to boycott China’s products, he said his voice to boycott china’s products in response to China’s increasing escalation over Line of Actual Control in Ladakh.

After that this app has become popular by topping on Google Play store in the category of ‘top free apps’, it was launched on 17 May and was going so strong that it has rated 4.8 ratings on Google Play Store.
