World Teacher’s Day is celebrated under the auspices of the United Nations on October 5. In India, Teachers’ Day is celebrated on 5 September while International Teachers Day is held on 5 October

The interesting thing is that Teacher’s Day is celebrated all over the world but everyone has set a separate day for it, so in some countries, there is a holiday on Teacher’s Day, but in other countries, that day is working as usual. On 5 October 1966, the Special Intergovernmental Conference on the Status of Teachers was held in Paris, France to analyze the issues affecting teachers and their profession. In the end, the conference reached a consensus and closed its investigation. As a result, a document “Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers” was published, which was signed by both members of the ILO and UNESCO.

Therefore, it is being celebrated annually in more than a hundred countries since 1994 and thus it was the 25th World Teacher’s Day in the year 2019. An organization called Education International is going to celebrate the occasion with the slogan “Unite for Quality Education”. Another institution prepares to celebrate it with the theme “Invest in the future, invest in teachers”.

Teachers Day In India:

The First Vice President and the second President of Independent India, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born on 5 September 1888. The Teacher’s Day is celebrated in India in the memory of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. But you will be surprised to know that World Teachers Day is celebrated to give importance to the teacher and remind the teacher’s responsibilities all over the world. The specialty of World Teachers Day is that the importance of teachers can be established in the whole world.

Different days for teacher’s day in the world:

Since 1994, World Teacher’s Day has been celebrated in UNESCO. Cooperation towards teachers in the society should be encouraged and World Teacher’s Day was started in UNESCO to realize the responsibilities of teachers. China also started Teachers ‘Day in 1931, but in 1932 the Chinese government gave permission to celebrate Teacher’s Day in China and it was decided that Teachers’ Day would be celebrated on 27 August, but later this announcement was also withdrawn.

In the year 1985, it was announced that Teacher’s Day would be celebrated on September 10, but there is a difference of opinion regarding Teacher’s Day in China even today. Many people in China want Confucius’s birthday to be celebrated as Teachers’ Day.
