International Coffee Day is celebrated every year on 1 October to recognize the efforts of all those who are involved in the coffee business. International Coffee Day is celebrated every year. The main purpose of this day is to show respect to all those people who work very hard to deliver coffee from farm to shop. In 2015, the International Coffee Organization organized the first World Coffee Day in Milan, Italy.

In 2014, the International Coffee Organization decided to celebrate International Coffee Day every year on 01 October. This day is also celebrated to create awareness about the issues of coffee farmers around the world.

Main Things To Know About Coffee:

• Kaldi, a goat shepherd from Ethiopia, first discovered coffee beans in the world.

• As per international reports, After oil, coffee is the second most traded commodity in the world.

• India is the 6th largest coffee producer in the world. 4 percent of the world’s total coffee is produced by India.

• Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Vietnam are the largest producer of coffee in the world.

• The largest producers of coffee in India are Karnataka (71%), Kerala (21%), and Tamil Nadu (5%).

• 70 to 80 percent of the coffee produced in India is exported.

• The top buyers of India’s coffee production are Italy, Russia, and Germany.

• Robusta coffee and Arabica coffee are extensively produced in India.

• Indian coffee is considered to be the best quality coffee around the world, as it is grown in shade in India, instead of coffee grown in direct sunlight elsewhere in the world.
