The first of the very simple steps is downloading an application ‘Android device manager’ from the Google play store on any Android cell phone. This app would help you with tracing your stolen android cell phone’s location and remotely lock. Also, it will help to delete all the data on your cell phone.

Go to the search engine and type ‘android.com/find’. A page will open where you have to sign in to your Google account, that’s on the main profile of your lost phone. Also Read: PUBG Mobile distances itself from Tencent, but experts say that may not be enough

In case, you have more than one device with the same google account, a list of devices will show up on the screen. Tap on the one which you want to trace.

Your lost device will get a notification and you’ll get the location on the maps of the cell phone you are using. The location might not be accurate, always.

If you don’t get the lost device’s location, you will be more likely to see its last known location, if available.

Choose what you want to do. Whether you want to lock your device and erase its data first or you want to ring it on the full volume so that you can hear it ringing.

If you want to lock and erase, click on ‘enable lock and erase’. If you didn’t have a lock earlier, you could set a PIN, pattern, or password with the other device that you are using. If you want to ring your device, it rings your cell phone at full volume for 5 minutes, even if it is set to silent or vibration mode. Also, you can add a message or phone number to the lock screen of your lost device. It will help someone who would find your phone to return it to you.

After you erase, ‘Find My Device’ won’t work on the lost phone. It permanently deletes all data on your cell phone but might not delete data of SD cards. And, in case, if you find your lost phone, you’ll need your Google Account password to use it again.
